Welcome to the Birmingham Literature Festival!

Formerly known as the Birmingham Book Festival. This site is currently being refurbished in line with some exciting changes to the Festival as we plan for October 2013.  Other than the change in our name, we can’t reveal too much at this point – look out for our Press Release on Tuesday 4 June 2013.

The dates for this year’s Festival are 3-12 October 2013. The Festival forms part of the opening season of the new Library of Birmingham which will largely be our new home. You can expect appearances from prominent literary figures such as Germaine Greer, Lionel Shriver, Catherine O’Flynn, Benjamin Zephaniah and Carol Ann Duffy, as well as writing workshops, book launches, student activities and the quirky literature experiences we’re known for.
