Carol Ann Duffy is one of the UK’s most admired poets. Her collections include Standing Female Nude, Selling Manhattan, Mean Time, The World’s Wife and Rapture. The Hat is her latest poetry collection for children.
Awards received include the Scottish Arts Council Award, the Somerset Maugham Award, the Dylan Thomas Award, the Whitbread Poetry Award, the Forward Poetry Prize, and the T. S. Eliot Prize. Since 1994 her work has been a staple of the GCSE and A Level English syllabus. She was awarded an OBE in 1995 and a CBE in 2002.
