Cold Light- Jenn Ashworth

Jenn Ashworth: Cold Light

Sunday 16th October

4.15pm – 5.15pm/ £6 (£4)

Hexagon Theatre, MAC, Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham, B12 9QH

Our Festival book 2011 has been described by The Guardian as ‘another cleverly skewed tale told from the self-conscious perspective of an outsider’ and ‘arrestingly observant’. Jenn’s first novel, A Kind of Intimacy was short-listed for Sam Jordison’s Not The Booker Award at The Guardian, and won a Betty Trask award from the Society of Authors. Set in a gritty northern landscape, Cold Light takes us back to the knife edge that was secondary school, and the volatile melting pot of jealousy, lies and intense relationships.
Darkly humorous and never afraid to tell the truth about us all, Jenn comes to Birmingham to talk teenagers and trouble.

Cold Light will be on sale at this event and you can also purchase it before the 16th October buy visiting our Festival Bookshop located in the Library Foyer, Central Library for the duration of the Birmingham Book Festival 2011 (closes on Saturday 15th October)
