If you are interested in writing and have a young relative who is too, then this is for you. Share their first writing workshop or encourage them to develop their creative skills and do some writing yourself at this cross-generational writing workshop for adults and young people (aged 9 - 16). Join Mandy Ross for some outdoor creative writing activity. Hidden away in the heart of Birmingham, the Martineau Gardens are a wild, green secret.

Canal Boat Creative Writing Workshop
Workshop Leader: Jo Bell / Venue: Gas Street Basin, off Broad Street, Birmingham

Poet Jo Bell lives on a boat and often uses the canals as a source for her writing. Join her on historic working boat Saltaire for a short trip on Birmingham's waterways and an intensive writing workshop. We will show you the city from a different angle and help you to write about your own urban landscape, drawing on watery memories or unfamiliar language. We regret that due to the design of the boat this event does not have disabled access.

Tickets: £17 (£14 concession)
Bank Holiday Monday 26th May, 2008 2pm - 4.30pm
Box Office 0121 246 2770
